Getting the chores done in a timely manner to save time

Regardless of whether you work outside or inside the home, household chores can be very time consuming. If you’re not careful they can take all week even leading into the weekend that is meant for relaxation and time for family. However, you can efficiently get the job done within the week if you follow these easy to do steps:

Wash and dry a load of laundry every morning and evening, Monday through Friday. This way, laundry will not pile up and you won’t be searching for that favorite outfit. Make sure all laundry is done by Friday evening and that you have your clothes ready to wear for Monday morning.

Immediately after dinner every night, place the dishes in the dishwasher and set it to run while you are asleep. You can empty the dishwasher the next morning while you’re coffee is brewing or you can have the kids do it after they come in from school. On the weekends, you can use plastic dinnerware to save time and water.

Vacuum the floors every other day. This keeps the dust, dirt, and pet dander to a minimum and your carpet looks cleaner. Dust every other day well. Dusting helps control asthma and allergies. You can purchase dust wipes for quick touch ups as well.

Deep clean your bathrooms during the middle of the week. You can use a touch up wipe on the other days, but use a more powerful cleaner for toilets, bathtubs, showers, sinks, and counters on Wednesday. The same goes for cleaning the kitchen sink and counters.

Mop your floors on Friday while the last load of laundry is in the wash, your dishes are in the dishwasher and the family has settled down for the evening. You won’t need to worry about it for another week.

Plan your menu in advance. Planning your menu saves time and money at the grocery store. You can even prepare your meals days or weeks in advance and freeze them. When your ready to serve them, all you will need to do is take it out of the freezer and put it in the microwave or oven.

Set aside a day every month to pay your bills. Most companies will accept credit cards or debit cards over the phone. You can also opt to mail your payment with a check or money order. Make sure you have stamps available at home so you won’t have to venture to the post office. You can place your envelopes in the mailbox and the postman will be happy to pick them up for you. Most banks offer a bill pay system. They will automatically send a check to the designated payee for the amount you have requested on the date you have selected. You can choose to do this one time or a a recurring event.

By following these easy and time efficient steps, you will not have to worry about household chores on the weekend. Instead, you can spend quality time with your family or just sit back and relax while doing nothing.
