Five little chores your kids can do around the house

There are a few chores that your kids can do around the house that will help you lighten up your workload. They can do a few things if they are old enough and most of these all ages can do. All these chores will show your kids responsibility and they are helping you out too.

Clean their own room

Yes cleaning their own room is a way to lighten up some of the workload that you have when it comes to cleaning the house. They can pick up their own toys and make their own beds so that you do not have to. This is the first thing that they can do when they get up in the morning and before they go to bed.

Take out trash

Many kids are old enough to do this chore. They can help you take out the trash, so that it will be one less thing you will have to worry about. If they are not old enough then they can follow you to the trash with a bag and help that way.

Walk the dog

When it comes to having pets the kids have to help take care of them to. When your child is old enough he or she can start feeding and walking the dog. This may be something that you will have to teach them when they are younger so that they get a hang of it later. Once they are old enough to do it on their own walking the dog can be something that you may never have to worry about for a while.

Wipe down tables

Wiping down tables and counters can be something that your little helper can do as a chore. Kids love to help and adding this chore will let them know that they are being really good helpers. Give them a towel and tell them how they can help and then let them do the rest. Your workload decreases and they will have more chores that can be added to their list of things to do.

Sweep and vacuum

Sweeping is more for kids that are a little older and that can handle the method as well as vacuuming. You would want to watch them for the first few times and then let them start doing it on their own after that. This is a task that is geared towards older kids like 10 and up, but younger ones below that age can learn how to do this task as well.

Having chores for your kids is a great way to teach them how to make sure that they are doing what they need to do around the house. They can be really good helpers and help you get things done. There are other chores like helping put dishes away that they can do as well. You do not have to leave them alone just watch them, because your kids can do more than you think they can. Chores are also a great way to give out rewards once they are done, so add a few chores little by little and then start giving rewards when they are complete.
