Beyond Babysitting Money Earning Tips for Preteens or Teens not Eligible Real

Life is full of surprising and easy ways to make a little bit of cash without the need for a full time job. You will still have free time to do the stuff you want to do and you will be able to hit the malls running to get that new game or pair of shoes!

Start with a walk around the neighborhood. Take note of the things that need to be done, like cutting grass, weeding gardens, walking dogs or yard clean ups. Anything that is a small, easy job but needs to be done should be on your list of things that you can and will do.

Once you have a good idea of the services that someone might just be willing to pay someone to do for them, go home and create a poster, flier or note that you will be able to pass out around your neighborhood. Include your name and phone number, and the best time to call you. Be sure to include a dollar amount that you would expect to be paid for completing each service on your list.

Next, grab a calendar or a sheet of paper, so you can keep appointments to complete the odd jobs that someone hires you for. This will help you to schedule your time without promising to do two jobs at once.

Take a nap! You are going to need it. After dinner, take another walk around your neighborhood with your new fliers. Visit with each of your neighbors, let them know that you are available to help with odd jobs around the house for the summer, and give them your flier.

Within a day or so, you will be answering phone calls and scheduling jobs. Keep your calendar handy so that you can note the date, time and price for each job. At the end of each week, visit your local bank and add half of the money you earned to a savings account. Shop, eat and have fun with the other half! You might ask why we suggest putting half into a savings account. You will earn money on the money you save, and you will have money for those cold winter months when the odd jobs business is a bit slower.

Don’t forget to schedule yourself a few hours of free time and a few hours for chores around your own house every day. Summer jobs are a great way to make money, but Summer vacation is also a time to take a break and relax. Have fun!
