It is by Noel Streatfeild, and was my favorite book when I was a child. It is a much loved children’s book, and a winner of the New York Times Book Review. You then pick it up at that book store at the normal listed price. This should average $4.99 for a paperback version of the book, and $9.99 for the hardcover edition.The book opens telling the reader about the three orphans that are the main characters of the book. They are called Pauline, Petrova, and Posy. All of the girls have a particular talent, and this is the theme used through-out the book series. This is the first book in the series. It is the best rated by far, according to the New York Times.The three orphans set out with a vow to themselves to make something of their names. They wish to help the benefactress as well. The story is set in England during the World War II period. It is rich in atmosphere, and imagery. The characters are realistic and fun. Each girl has their own talent, and a personality that leads them into trouble at times. this all resolves with each girl learning a lesson that can be a great tool for your child as well.

It has become such a hit with young girls that it was recently released on film. Emma Watson plays the lead in the movie released; according to CBS News. Before allowing your child to see the movie, do read the book first. It offers far more rich character meaning to the story. If your child has seen the film, then be sure to pick up the book anyway to further allow the story to be a special part of your child’s summer.The book has 281 pages, and promises to be a real page turner for that special summer reading list for your child. So check it out from a local library or a book shop for your child’s summer reading list. You will be so glad that you did.
