No matter what your form of travel, make sure to avoid sitting for several hours at a time. This will allow blood to pool in your legs, causing blood clots. To avoid this, simply get up and walk around periodically.
Drink plenty of non-alcoholic drinks before boarding an airplane and during the flight to help prevent dehydration.
If you are traveling out of country, be sure to check with your doctor for any immunizations you may need.
Avoid drinking the water in other countries. Take bottled water with you. This means avoid using ice as well.

Take comfortable, low heeled, shoes for walking. This will help prevent back ache.

Take your own pillows for overnight trips to help you get the best night’s sleep possible.
Take time to rest as often as you can while on a trip. Standing and walking for long periods of time can cause leg cramps and backache.

As long as you have a normal and healthy pregnancy, there is no reason not to take time and enjoy a vacation before you embark on the new journey of parenthood. With a few precautionary measures, you can have a safe and enjoyable travel experience.
